Returns & Cancellations — Fait à Main

Every piece from Fait à Main is hand-painted and made to order in our studio. Because of this, our policy differs from standard ready-to-wear returns — please read before ordering.

Custom & Personalized Items

Mahjong mats, leather goods, and needlepoint pieces made with a monogram, custom color palette, initials, or other personalization are final sale. These pieces are made specifically for you and cannot be resold, so we're unable to accept returns or exchanges once production has begun.

Cancellations

Because each piece is hand-painted to order, we build in a short window before work begins:

• Within 24 hours of ordering: full refund or changes to your order, no questions asked.
• After 24 hours: your piece enters production. At this point, orders can no longer be canceled or refunded, as materials have been cut and painting has started.

If you need to make a change (monogram spelling, color, etc.), email us immediately at order@fait-a-main.com we'll do our best to accommodate before production starts.

Damaged or Defective Items

We inspect every piece before it ships, but if your order arrives damaged or with a manufacturing defect:

• Contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the item and packaging.
• We will repair, replace, or issue store credit at our discretion — this is a handmade good, and small variations in paint and material are part of its character, not a defect.

Ready-to-Ship / Non-Personalized Items

For any items sold without personalization (if and when offered), we accept returns within 14 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original packaging. Buyer covers return shipping; original shipping is non-refundable.

Custom Commissions & Live Painting Events

Bespoke commissions and live event bookings (e.g., in-person painting activations) require a deposit to secure your date. Deposits are non-refundable but fully transferable to a future date with at least 14 days' notice. Final balance is due before the event/delivery and is non-refundable once work has begun.

Wholesale Orders

Wholesale terms are governed separately by your signed wholesale agreement. Standard retail return terms above do not apply to wholesale purchases.
