Some things are made by machine. The best things are made by hand.

That belief has guided me since my early college years, long before Fait à Main had a name, a studio, or a single painted brushstroke on a luxury bag.

I grew up in Mexico, surrounded by color, texture, and the kind of beauty that only comes from things made with intention. Art was not just something I studied, it was something I lived. So when it came time to create a business, there was really only one direction: toward craftsmanship, toward creativity, inspired by the places in the world where I have lived, and taking inspiration from every museum, town, shop, and any place that has left a mark on me.

An Education Rooted in the World's Creative Capitals

My journey took me through some of the most inspiring cities on earth. I lived in Mexico City from the age of five, my hometown is a small town in central Mexico called Guanajuato, near San Miguel de Allende. After high school I moved to Florence, which was such a beautiful and memorable experience. I also lived in Milan and San Francisco. Each city gave me something different. Mexico City gave me color and soul. Florence gave me precision and reverence for the handmade. Milan gave me an understanding of luxury as a language. San Francisco gave me the freedom to think differently.

Together they built the foundation that everything at Fait à Main stands on: craftsmanship, color, and an instinctive eye for what makes something truly beautiful.

The Goyard Years

The chapter that started everything was my time with Goyard, the iconic French maison that has been crafting luxury goods by hand since 1853.

Working with Goyard was where I discovered marquage, the precise, meticulous art of hand-painting directly onto luxury pieces. Every stroke deliberate. Every line intentional. No shortcuts, no transfers, no machines. Just a brush, paint, and a trained hand.

It is one of the most demanding and most beautiful techniques in the world of luxury. And it became mine.

I spent years mastering it, refining it, learning to see the way a piece wants to be painted how color behaves on leather, how a monogram should sit, how a custom design can transform something already beautiful into something completely personal.

The Birth of Fait à Main

When I moved to Houston, I entered a deeply creative phase. I continued working on a small jewelry line I had started with my closest friend in San Francisco, took a class at the MFA Houston, which I loved but somehow I always came back to textiles and drawing. Something kept pulling me back to the technique, the eye, the obsession with quality, and a deep belief that women deserve beautiful things made specifically for them.

Fait à Main, which means "made by hand" in French, was born from that belief.

Today our studio creates hand-painted wearable art for women who refuse to carry the same bag as everyone else. We paint on Hermès, Goyard, Moreau to canvas totes and more. We create mahjong mats designed with intention, that some how make game night feel like an event. We design needlepoint pieces through our Le Canevas line that turn a pillow into an heirloom.

Every single piece that leaves our atelier monogramed is painted by hand. Every piece is one of a kind. Every piece tells a story, yours.

This Is Just the Beginning

Fait à Main is more than a studio. It is a love letter to the art of making things by hand in a world that has forgotten how.

If you have a piece you want to make personal, a vision you want to bring to life, or simply a love of beautiful things, we would love to create something for you.
